Come help us promote the “fastest growing game in America”.The Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a golf tournament at Blue Hill Country Club on September 19th, 2016. This outing is going to be a great golf experience while providing an educational and entertaining afternoon on the benefits youth rugby brings to boys and girls across the Commonwealth. MYRO has been active in promoting and expanding the game. In the spring of 2017, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association ( MIAA ) will be the first state association to recognize both girls and boys rugby as a high school varsity sport. However, there is still a great deal of work required to bring our game and the values it promotes to children across the state. We are working with school system Health & Wellness programs, community-based organizations (YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs) and municipal recreation departments to provide trained coaches, curriculum materials, non-contact introductory programs. We are providing players who want to advance in the game with developmental camps and select side competition. But we need your help.
Please join us with three of your friends for our outing in September for the 2016 MYRO Golf Tournament. As a player in this year’s tournament you will receive a player gift bag upon your arrival, a post tournament meal, chances to bid on silent auction items, and the ability to take part in our raffle. All proceeds from the 2016 MYRO Golf Tournament will go directly to supporting, educating, promoting and fostering the development of youth rugby in Massachusetts.
If you have any name you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Michelle Brimecombe at email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you in September!
Volunteers are crucial to the success of MYRO and we could not grow without the help of local communities.
We have opportunities to coach flag Rugby from ages 6-13 and contact Rugby in High School. We also need volunteers for events, such as the State Championships.
In addition, we are looking for a few specialty volunteers to help grow the game. These include a social media volunteer and and a new media volunteer who would be willing to produce and add entertaining material about MYRO and MYRO members.
Sign up as a volunteer coach, referee or tournament staff to help grow Rugby in MA! Just click "Register" below. No Rugby experience necessary.
