MYRO Media Program Seeks Volunteers and Donations

For this rugby season, we are seeking volunteers and donations for recording player development, tournaments and matches. Are you interested in recording equipment, do you have a creative eye for the lens? Enjoy digital editing? Then maybe you should consider working with MYRO's Media Program. We are seeking people that will want to take on the fun of recording youth rugby. You can help record our matches and most importantly, capture player development so that footage can be used for college recruiters and scholarships. Most colleges have rugby programs and are looking for athletes to join their programs. Here's where you could help that rugger that wants to be seen by the recruiter. Maybe you went through MYRO or another youth rugby program and now you find yourself in college considering a media major...well get some real time experience this season. Sponsorship Opportunities

Not sure how to give back to the game of rugby? Have you considered sponsoring the MYRO State Championships, a team or an event? Please contact Bruce Adams at bruce.adams@myrugby.org today to find out the best ways to give back!

MYRO has been working to promote and expand youth rugby at all levels with some success. In the spring of 2017, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) will be the first state association to recognize both girls and boys’ rugby as a high school varsity sport. However, there is still a great deal of work required to bring our game and the values it promotes to children across the state. We are working with school system Health & Wellness programs, with community-based organizations (e.g. YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs) and with municipal recreation departments, providing trained coaches, curriculum materials, and non-contact introductory programs. We are assisting players who want to advance in the game with access to developmental camps and select side competition. But we need the communities help to make this event a success!

The Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed in 2010 to promote physical fitness, teamwork and leadership skills through the game of rugby. All proceeds from the 2021 MYRO will go directly to supporting, educating, promoting and fostering the development of youth rugby in Massachusetts.
